Improving clean and safe resources for communities.
Drinking water is a rare resource in the rural areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Our pilot center needs reliable access to clean and safe water for patients, caregivers, training personnel and staff, and the communities that we serve. One well can provide about 2,500 gallons of life-sustaining water every day for over 300 people in the communities we serve.
Many Congolese obtain water from rivers, ponds, and lakes that are contaminated with run-off pollutants. Drinking this water leads to extensive, long-standing health issues, and higher risk of parasitic infestations and other infections.
There are very few water treatment plants in the DRC and these facilities are rarely found outside of large cities. PROSAMI aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to our Congolese mothers and their children.
How It Works
Your support strengthens and improves access to clean and safe water at the Pilot Center and for our patients. We need access to reliable and clean water to ensure we can provide high levels of quality care.
Our clean water project directly impacts women, their children, and our healthcare personnel. Your contribution strengthens our ability to facilitate access to adequate and effective services.
The artesian spring water lies 500ft beneath the soil. Drilling a well in the Democratic Republic of Congo is an achievement in itself. With your support, we can provide communities with a well that serves rural communities safely and efficiently.
