Improving Access
The cause of high infant & maternal death can be partly contributed to communities having poor access to general healthcare and reliable infrastructure. PROSAMI has improved healthcare access for pregnant mothers and infants. All mothers are invited to use PROSAMI’s services. They are encouraged to pay for these services in either cash or in-kind contributions, but no mother is turned away.
Delivering High-Quality Care
All pregnant women, as well as those contemplating pregnancy, receive the same high standards of patient obstetrical education, careful history taking, and a comprehensive physical exam. The Pilot Center provides laboratory services and dispenses basic medication for the peripartum mother. Obstetrical emergencies are diagnosed quickly and handled skillfully. Infants are afforded thorough pediatric evaluations at birth and provided consistent nutritional surveillance. Infant immunizations are delivered in a timely manner, and infants are assertively treated upon exhibiting any signs of malaria, amoebic parasites, diphtheria, or childhood viral disease.
Utilizing Telemedicine
Consultations with doctors from around the world via telemedicine ensure that mothers and infants in high-risk or emergency situations have access to expert medical care.
